Petro Fiberglass Sumps, Inc. began in 1987, when D.R. Mozeley, Inc. realized the need for a fiberglass box or sump to protect the metallic risers underneath gas dispensers or around the Submergible Tank Sumps (STPs).  Then, the sump's sole purpose was for "soil protection".  Later, a rubber gasket would be added to fill the penetration site around the piping, ensuring a watertight seal.

The combined experience of the D.R. Mozeley, Inc. team set the standard for the sump manufacturers of today.  With their extensive knowledge gained through designing and constructing petroleum retail outlets, they originated and manufactured an eight-sided tank sump, which became the first watertight sump.

Structural integrity is imperative for an underground sump.  In extreme cold or heat, our fiberglass material maintains its properties without becoming overly brittle in cool temperatures, or ultra-pliable as the temperature rises.  Our sumps are durable, repairable, rigid, and our white gel coat on the interior results in better visibility.

We believe Petro Fiberglass Sumps, Inc. manufactures the only true watertight sump.  Many of our sumps are installed in high-water table areas, i.e. the Florida Keys, Louisiana, Mississippi, and the Eastern Coastline.

In the late 1990's, the plastic sump industry did a good job marketing their product to the Petroleum Industry.  Now, many plastic piping systems, including sumps, are failing; resulting in costly ecological clean-ups and lawsuits.  Fiberglass IS the solution.
